Update: I compared the capacity of these to my favorite ceramic cappuccino cups –the kind you’ll find in a good coffee shop–and they hold just slightly (maybe 10ml) MORE liquid to the brim, which was surprising given how much smaller they seem in hand.I love insulated drinkware and was happy to find a nice clean design for morning caps, and with one minor caveat, these met expectations. The polish is awesome (fully mirrored outside and mostly so inside) easy to clean and perfectly matches the polished stainless of my espresso machine. The lip isn’t overly wide (pretty close to standard ceramic) or sharp–I would guess this where inside and outside are laser-welded together but it’s finished well enough you’d never know. This should keep them permanently sealed even with thermal changes like a dishwasher, and they also sit dead flat top and bottom and are light but feel substantial. All in all, a rather nice set that, frankly, is amazing so see offered at this price, given the sophistication in manufacturingIn use, I do notice a longer cool down time on these smaller drinks where even a preheated ceramic would just radiate away the warmth – not earth shattering but there’s only so much retention you can expect with heat escaping the open top. These are also drinks you’re not gonna let sit around a while, but I have found that a forgotten last sip is still pleasantly warm 20 minutes later.As for that caveat: If there’s anything that reflects the low price, it’s what appeared to be consistent handling/manufacturing scars; each of mine arrived with a very small dent/crease in pretty much the same location near the base. These are so minor that as I sit here looking at one with some use/fingerprints/etc, it took me a few minutes to even find, and it certainly has no tangible effect on use/performance. I’m actually going to bump this back to five stars simply because I consider this to be a good tradeoff to generating extra waste with fancy packaging that I would immediately throw away.So…understand that these are SMALL (if you’re not used to traditional cappuccino or cortado) and maybe give them a careful once over when you open them up…otherwise this is a great set that I will be getting a lot of use out of.
